Note: if this is your first time on this site, it is indeed a Feng Shui site. Just covering a cleanse I’m on until May 12th – Spring Cleaning/Feng Shui for the Body.
I’m so excited because today is DAY ONE of my “Real Food” Spring Cleanse!” I know that this is not a food blog but let me explain how it’s related to Feng Shui and why I want to share this journey with you. Feng Shui concerns your space (home or office) and how the space effects you, the individual using the space. And vice versa. If a home is happy and the energy is flowing well, most likely the people who use the space are experiencing the same thing. If a space is dark and cluttered, well you get the picture.
Spring in Feng Shui represents the element of Wood. It’s a time where nature’s greens are pushing through the earth after a cold winter. We can help its growth by clearing up the debris leftover from winter. Think about what you do when you declutter your home – you clean out what no longer serves you which allows for new energy to come in. That exactly what I, and a group of friends are doing in this cleanse. Our bodies are our homes and we are doing some seasonal Spring Cleaning! A food cleanse is a perfect example of Feng Shui for our bodies.
The reason I’m calling it a “Real Food” Cleanse is because we not fasting or downing just lemon-cayenne (eek) concoctions and calling it a day. We are going to be eating real food. What I mean by that is we can eat a large variety of things such as fresh or water packed fish and wild game (think salmon, bison!), vegetable proteins such as lentils and split peas. We will be cutting out less desirables such as processed meat, dairy, white rice, caffeine (ack!) and alcohol. For 3 weeks. Yup you heard it right, 3 weeks. I’ll be partnering this with twice weekly acupuncture treatments as well as taking nutritional supplements. I’m sure my body will thank me for it later.

I’m excited about it today but I know it won’t be easy. What I am excited about is doing it with my friends at Olo Acupuncture who created this cleanse since we all know that our goals are more easily achieved when you have the proper support and community.
My goals? I’m hoping this journey will help my body let go of what it no longer needs while revitalizing my qi just in time for Spring (I mean the real warmer weather Spring!) I’m going to try to post my experience daily and if you feel inspired, leave a comment or better yet, jump on the cleanse band wagon! Just because I’m doing 21 days means you need to. Join me for a week, a weekend or just a day. Here is some more info on cleanses. Find one that works for you. And here we go!
