Note: if this is your first time on this site, it is indeed a Feng Shui site. Just covering a cleanse I’m on until May 12th – Spring Cleaning/Feng Shui for the Body.

I successfully completed the first day of my “Real Food” cleanse. I’m going to admit that I wasn’t so well prepared. It’s all about honesty here right? I started off with a yummy Glowing Green Smoothie. Everything was going ok but I quickly realized that I was sitting in front of the computer…starving. What could I quickly reach for to get my blood sugar back to normal? Um, nothing. I didn’t prep in advance so I had nothing to fall back on. Luckily after scavenging, I found some nuts in my bag and boy let me tell you, that saved the day.

After getting back on my feet and figuring out the rest of the afternoon, lunch was earnestly devoured and then a strange calm (read: uber fatigue) came over me. I plowed through and came out ok on the other end. This is my first time doing a cleanse so I am supposing that this is all normal. My body is detoxing. I’m bound to have dips of energy. Although yesterday was a minor struggle, at the end of the day I did feel lighter and clearer. I even managed to squeeze in a workout. I went to bed earlier than usual, slept like a baby and woke up feeling ready for today.

Lesson learned: In any decluttering project, prep in advance so you don’t feel overwhelmed by (fill in emotion here) and get tempted to run for the hills. If it does happen, take a breath (or some nuts in my case), regroup, and plunge in again. Just remember that if things don’t go perfectly, it’s ok. Just start again. My plan? I went Trader Joe’s and now I’m planning my meals for the week.

PS: In my enthusiasm yesterday, I promised that I would blog daily for the 21 days of my cleanse. After noting my energy level yesterday, I decided that I was going to be gentler on myself and aim to post at least 3 times a week. But who knows, maybe I’ll be full of boundless energy by week two. TBD!
