We just finished up 3 weeks of shedding with the help of our old friend the Wood Snake. I know many of you are waiting for the Year of the Horse information, and I promise it’s coming! But before we talk about the Horse’s upcoming speed, momentum or bold moves, there’s something much more important to decide, otherwise all that energy gets wasted (drum roll please…)
And now, there’s less than three weeks until the Lunar New Year on Feb 17th, and if you’re feeling that anticipatory buzz, restlessness, or slightly uncomfortable pressure to“get moving already,” I hear you. We are transitioning energies, and the Horse energy is not small. Things are about to accelerate.
Right before a big energetic shift, your instinct may be to do more, plan more, say yes more, push harder. I see you, my New Yorker and/or Type A friend (said with love from a former Type A New Yorker gal). But this is actually the moment where direction matters far more than effort.
So just stop for a sec.
Horse energy doesn’t reward scattered movement. It just turns up the volume on whatever you already have in motion.
Which means the real question for you right now isn’t, what should I do next? But rather, what things are very present in my life, consciously or unconsciously, and do I want that energy amplified? (this is SUPER important).
This is why I’ve been so intentional about closing out the Snake year properly. If you’ve been following the shedding practices over the past few weeks, keep going. You still have time as that work isn’t extra. The shedding process will be the reason the Horse won’t gallop all over you when it arrives.
Before the Year of the Horse officially begins, the most valuable thing you can do is choose one direction in your life that you want to amplify, or not.
Maybe it’s your health, creative time, financial knowledge, boundaries in relationships or visibility? I’m sure you have a ton to choose from.
As I’m right along with you on this journey, what I’m focusing on is pacing – how fast or slow I live my life. Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m a recovering New Yorker, and HUSTLE was my middle name. Since I’ve integrated European living into my blood, Hustle is now like, my maiden name. I love it and honor it, but I chose to change it. I slowed down to focus deeper, inhale more profoundly and actually live my life very intentionally. And it’s working. My life is not on hold but actually moving along beautifully, without the pushing.
So that’s me. What about you? What will you decide to calmly and deliberately direct your energy toward before the Fire Horse arrives? Write it down, now.
The Horse energy is powerful, fast and confident. So if you don’t decide on direction now, the Horse will blast through the gates and decide your year for you. The Horse multiplies momentum, and whatever is unclear gets chaotic. Like… super chaotic.
You just need to decide. Instead of feeling impatient and rushed, just relax into this moment and ask yourself:
What is the one area of my life I am choosing to focus on, stabilize and stand behind, no matter how busy things get this year?
