Last week, Pantone announced their Color of the Year. The former art director in me was waiting by the edge of my seat. Then the color was revealed: Cloud Dancer.
Hmm, white like a cloud that is supposed to represent calm, clarity and a fresh start. Yes, I can see that, but shortly after, the internet immediately did what we expect the internet to do, and blew it up. Calling the new color tone deaf and boring.
If you know me at all, I choose harmony above all. That is why I’m a Feng Shui consultant. There will always be positives and no-so-positives, but we can always choose harmony. But from a design perspective, I am not a minimalist Feng Shui consultant. I want to, and want you as well, to put your personal stamp in every corner of your life. It’s of complete importance that you are reflection of you – make your home, your wardrobe, your sentences, the whole of you, a true representation of you. Sometimes that requires bold colors, big objects and/or big words. Yang energy.
But here is what I appreciate about Cloud Dancer. It’s a color that is quiet, clean and neutral. What do you do when you see a puffy white cloud? Usually smile and exhale deeply. This clean slate gives you room to think and to breathe. No wonder photographers like to live with pure white walls! And honestly, that is exactly the invitation December gives us every year – pure emptiness in which to restart.
So please don’t panic or have the feeling of “I need to totally redo my life by end of day Sunday!” That’s unnecessary pressure and stress.
When I look at Cloud Dancer through a Feng Shui lens, I see calm and clarity, like the way your home may feel after you clear off your kitchen counter or finally fold the laundry that has been sitting on your couch for two days.
So, my Feng Shui warrior Love, here is your Feng Shui homework for the weekend: borrow from Pantone’s simplicity and pick one area, one surface, or a corner that has been bugging you and just….clear it. And that’s it.
Notice if anything shifts in your body or if anything feels clearer, lighter. Cloud Dancer may have caused a meltdown online, but energetically it is right on time.
Winter is the season of quiet intentions and gentle resets. The Western New Year begins on January 1, but we are preparing for the Lunar New Year of the Horse on February 17. So don’t sweat it. Just start clearing this weekend only if you have time.
If you want to start 2026 with real clarity before Lunar New Year, hit reply and I will share the offerings that can support you. Until then, be light like a cloud!
