I came across this article this week, and I wanted to shout YESSSSS! from the rooftops.

It confirmed something I’ve been feeling (and seeing) for a long time: that the “open-concept” trend so many of us fell in love with might actually be making us feel more scattered, anxious, and overstimulated — not more free.

The piece dives into how these wide-open spaces, while beautiful in theory, don’t give our nervous systems a chance to rest. There’s no containment or boundaries. You see the dishes, the work mess, the unfinished projects — all at once, all the time.

There’s nowhere for your energy to land. Nothing to hold you. And that starts to show up in subtle, draining ways: decision fatigue, overwhelm, restlessness, even burnout.

It’s not just a design issue; it’s an energetic one.

And if you’re like many of the women I work with, you might be feeling it too. That low-grade buzz of unease in your own home. That sense that no matter how much you tidy or rearrange, something still feels off.

That craving for clarity — not just in your space, but in your life.

The truth is, your environment is not neutral. It’s a living, breathing mirror. And when your space is too open, too exposed, too undefined… you might be feeling exactly the same way.

In Feng Shui, we talk about “zones of support.” Places with purpose. Spaces that hold and nourish you — whether that’s a quiet corner for reading, a defined entryway to signal coming and going, or a closet that reflects who you’re becoming.

Feng Shui gives form to what you’re ready to feel more of. And sometimes, that starts with setting boundaries the world — and your home — can actually see.

This is the kind of deep work I do with my private clients.

Yes, we look at your floor plan. But we also look at your internal map — your goals, your voice, the future version of you that’s been whispering for some space to land.

Together, we create environments that don’t just look good… they feel good. And that changes everything.

I’m in the early stages of welcoming a few women into the next season of my Feng Shui coaching — deeper work that supports real transformation from the inside out.

If something here resonates, get in touch! I’d love to connect and hear what’s stirring for you.
