Yesterday, I became my own client – whether I wanted to or not.

Real story. The night before, I went to bed with a plan: knock out my to-do list, finish editing my Feng Shui Friday video, and keep everything on track. But when I woke up, my energetic battery was barely at 20%.

No problem, right? I’m a coach – an energy coach, to be precise. Let’s go, Coach. I told myself, “take your tools from your tool belt and recharge your battery.”

But the usual suspects – gym, meditation, protein intake, hydration, cat nap – just didn’t work.

Still drained.

The signs were impossible to ignore. I was yawning nonstop, my usual enthusiasm had vanished, my smile disappeared, and everything felt extra irritating. The biggest red flag? I actually felt my age – something that rarely happens.

So what did I do? I stopped pushing and started listening. And I used Feng Shui to shift my energy in a way that actually worked.

I could have pushed through. I could have forced myself to work, filmed a video, or checked off more tasks. But I know from experience: that never ends well. Instead, I did something radical – I stopped. I chose to honor where I was instead of forcing myself forward.

The first thing I did was talk to myself the way I would talk to a good friend. If someone I cared about was exhausted, I wouldn’t tell them to just push through. I’d tell them to rest, to take a break, to be kind to themselves. So, I gave myself that same permission.

Next, I let go of the guilt. There was a moment where I thought, But I have so much to do… and then I reminded myself that nothing good comes from working on fumes. Pushing through exhaustion only leads to burnout, and I’d rather take a small step back today than a complete collapse later.

Finally, I leaned into what I actually needed instead of what I thought I should be doing. I scrapped my original plan for the day and replaced it with rest, fresh air, and quiet. No obligations, no expectations. Just space to recharge.

And here’s the thing: energy isn’t just about what we do – it’s about knowing when to pause. Feng Shui is about alignment, and that includes aligning with your own rhythms. Some days are meant for action. Others are a reminder that rest is productive too.

If you ever find yourself drained and uninspired, here are 3 Feng Shui Tips to Create a Space that your Energy CRAVES:

1. Refresh Your Fire Element

Fire energy is what fuels passion, confidence, and motivation. If you’re feeling low, check in with the Fire element in your space. Open the curtains and let in natural light, light a candle, or add a touch of red or warm tones to your workspace. Even a small shift – like playing uplifting music – can help reignite your spark.

2. Clear the Mental Clutter

Sometimes, exhaustion isn’t just physical – it’s mental. If your space feels chaotic, your mind probably does too. Take a few minutes to clear your desk, tidy up your room, or even just move things around. The act of physically shifting energy in your environment can create more breathing room in your mind.

3. Create a ‘Compassion Corner’

Pick a spot in your home – maybe a cozy chair, a sunny windowsill, or a quiet nook – and make it a space dedicated to rest and kindness. Add things that bring you comfort, like a soft blanket, a favorite book, or a reminder to slow down. Let this be the place where you give yourself permission to pause, reflect, and recharge.

So if you’re feeling drained, take a step back and check in with yourself. What would you tell a friend in your shoes? Maybe today isn’t about pushing through. Maybe today is about giving yourself exactly what you need. And if you’re looking for small ways to realign your space and energy, start with these Feng Shui shifts – they might be just what you need to bring a little more ease into your day.
