I know you are feeling antsy and rightly so, the Horse is coming up fast and furiously. But, we’re still in that in-between space – still honoring our dear friend the snake and gentle squeezing out all the benefits of the Snake energy year before jumping into the Horse year.
And you will thank me for it because the Horse year will be robust and unrelenting so friends, get your strategy and rest in now.
If you’ve been following along the past couple of weeks (which I hope you have!), you already know this specific annual zodiac transition isn’t about doing more, but about letting go strategically.
In part 1 of the Snake shedding series, we worked with MINDSET. Last week in part 2, we paused a HABIT that was quietly draining us.
Today is part 3, and this Snake shedding tip is getting real – it’s a PHYSICAL RELEASE. This one may land more easily for those of you who love visual cues, checklists and tangible progress. It’s also where Feng Shui becomes very practical.
Let’s remember something important about the Snake. It sheds its skin before it moves on. It doesn’t keep it “just in case.” It releases what no longer fits, what’s honestly dead and no longer serving who it is, and then it soavemently moves forward, gracefully and effortlessly. Imagine that being you.
Do this exercise now – close your eyes and imagine literally shedding whatever is no longer serving you, not reflecting who you are now or who you are becoming. Imagine those things slipping off, dissolving, returning to the earth because you are done with them. Bravo!
So let’s apply this concept to Part 3 Shedding tip today. This is where Feng Shui becomes very practical.
Look around your space. Are you surrounded by objects that belong to an older version of you, perhaps a version who lived differently, dressed differently or showed up differently? Your environment may still be telling an old story of who you WERE.
So today’s focus is simple and very intentional: this week, release 9 physical items. This might sound bigger than the last two weeks, but energetically this is still considered light work in Feng Shui terms.
If clutter feels challenging, start very small. Release a paper clip or a pen that’s run out of ink. Those count too. What matters most is the intention: you are buddies with the Snake and are shedding what no longer serves you so you can get ready for the new royalty coming in – the Fire Horse.
You can stop at 9, or if you feel inspired, continue with 18, 27…108 items! The number 9 is an auspicious number in Chinese metaphysics and working with its energy supports momentum and success.
This isn’t about getting organized. It’s about creating energetic space.
Horse energy is forward-moving, confident and fast. It doesn’t like being slowed down by objects that chain you to who you used to be. When you release these physical items, you’re signaling that you’re ready for momentum and opportunity. Chaos is a big possibility in the Horse year but if you lead, it will follow.
If you’re noticing that your closet in particular feels disconnected from who you are now – your body, your lifestyle, your confidence, your visibility – that’s not accidental. Your closet holds identity, self-expression and how you step into the world every single day.
I’m coming to NYC in a couple weeks and have a limited number of In-person Closet Style & Alignment sessions for women who feel ready to physically reflect their next chapter, not through trends or rules, but through powerful Feng Shui alignment. Think 4 hours of supported, fun and very intentional clearing and creating of who you are becoming. I’ve created a very intentional prep phase so reply now if you’re interested so that your in-person 4 hours feel effortless and powerful.
For now, release those 9 objects and release more if you are inspired. Thank the items and let the Snake finish its work.
Next week, we start inching toward the Horse. But again, stay present in the Snake and take advantage of all it has to offer.
PS: I just cleaned out my own closet! The process was fun and now I’m ready for the Horse 🙂
