Most clients come to me with very obvious, varying degrees of energetic discrepancies.
For example, someone may come to me with the problem of not being able to focus, having too many choices, not being able to calm the chatter in their mind long enough to make a decision. Another client may come to me not knowing why they are always so tired and not able to do the things they actually want to do.
You may not know, but I call myself the Energy Whisperer. Yes, I’m a Feng Shui consultant who looks at your physical space and where you live and work. But did you know your environment directly affects how well you use your energy? And that I can see where potential energy leaks are happening? You may know already who and what just drainnnnns your energy.
When I work with clients, I am super vigilant about looking at these sneaky characters. It’s important to look at that because many are not even aware this is happening. But there is an even more important thing that you may not be looking at, and that is where you’re placing your energy in the first place.
Talking about energy is always important, and especially right now as we move into Spring. There is more light, you may be feeling more energetic, and others around you are too. There are more invitations, more life happening all at once. And with the Fire Horse energy this year, everything feels amplified. Things have the potential to move very fast and you may be tempted to go along with it.
I felt this myself this week. There were a couple of days where everything felt heavy in my body and a little off in my energy. Normally, I would have pushed through, gone to the gym, and said yes to a few more things. That part of me that’s very aware of getting older would have made a very strong case for going to the gym.
But instead, I didn’t push. I honored what I needed. I went for a walk in the park. I felt guilty for a moment, and then I felt completely like myself again. That small shift changed everything.
As Spring invites expansion and marks the start of a new seasonal cycle, it’s critical for me to remind you: Just because something is available doesn’t mean it’s aligned with you.
Just because you’re invited to a dinner doesn’t mean you have to go. Just because your fave band is in town doesn’t mean you need to buy a ticket. Just because someone asks for your help or advice doesn’t mean you need to say yes.
Remember Yin. It’s your superpower. It balances out the doing, doing, doing, especially in this hyperactive Horse year. Because power is not in how much you do. It’s where your energy goes.
So here is a question to ask yourself: Where are you saying yes… when your energy is already saying no?
