Are you ready to breathe and process after coming off last week’s wild election rollercoaster? It’s important to remind yourself that loving your neighbors (even the ones with wildly different lawn signs) is the real win.
As a very spiritual person, I believe you’re responsible for your own energy. Maintaining that energy doesn’t just benefit you – it’s like sunshine on a cloudy day – it spreads out and makes everything, and everyone around you, brighter.
In Feng Shui, the Bagua map is used to identify areas in your spaces that align with different aspects of your life. Right now, my gut is nudging me (and it’s rarely wrong) to focus on the Relationship area. Why?
Because when you peel back the labels – red, blue, chartreuse – we’re all just humans sharing the same space. This is a moment when reconnecting with our shared humanity is essential. The main goal of Feng Shui is letting energy flow smoothly to create harmony and good vibes. And right now, harmony could use a little boost, don’t you think?
The Relationship area also embodies nurturing, compassionate, feminine energy. It’s the kind of energy that encourages care and understanding, and I think we could all benefit from that balance right now. With so much strong yang (masculine) energy in the air, a touch of yin (feminine) energy feels grounding and necessary.
Finding Your Relationship Area
To find this section in any room, stand at the doorway and look in. The Relationship area is the top right corner.

Choosing the room: Where to focus?
The rule of thumb in Feng Shui is that the room you either 1) spend the most time in or 2) one that feels most significant to you to have the most powerful effect. For example, energizing a section of your bedroom would be more impactful than energizing a section of your office, since you will most likely be sleeping in your bed every night.
Steps to enhance the Relationship energy:
- Set Your Intention – it’s important to know WHY you are energizing this space. The most powerful intention is one that you feel in your core. Keep playing with the sentence until it feels right to you. For example:
- I wish all parties harmony and peace
- I wish peace with all my neighbors
- I wish peace for myself
- I send unconditional love to everyone
- I wish a loving and nurturing feminine energy for everyone who needs this balancing energy
- Energize the Space – Place items in that area that symbolize your intention. This could include pairs of objects for balance, items in shades of pink or red for love, or round objects to represent feminine energy.
- Visualize and Embrace – After setting up your space, it’s time to FEEL! Take a moment to visualize your intention manifesting. Imagine telling a friend in a few days how much better the energy feels. Feel your happy feelings in the here and now and then, of course, do a happy dance!
Et Voilà! You’ve taken a meaningful step toward supporting post-election energy, both for yourself and those around you. And YES, you can use this for love relationships too (wink wink). Sending warm, positive energy your way.
