Earlier this month, I declared September the NEW, new year, and I meant it.

Forget January. September is where the real magic happens. And if you waste this window, you may regret it by November.

Because let’s be real. Once the holiday season kicks in, your life isn’t your own until January 2…or later. That’s if you even have the energy to drag yourself out of your warm bed, when it’s still dark out, to…(fill in your ambitious goal.)

Right now, you’ll likely have more clarity and focused energy than at almost any other point of the year. You may still be carrying the ease and recharge of summer, and if you’re a parent, the kids are back in school which means there’s more space in your day. Woo-hoo, and can I hear maybe a little hallelujah too?

This is why September matters. It’s the window where you finally get to roll up your sleeves and bring energy back to yourself. In Feng Shui, energy is everything. So let’s use September’s powerful energy to laser focus on your routines, your goals, and your happiness.

All those goals you keep talking about, all the changes you want to make? They don’t happen without energy. Energy is your health, focus, clarity and your motivation. Without energy, nothing moves. With energy, everything is possible.

And that’s why one of the first steps in my Feng Shui isn’t moving furniture, it’s becoming aware of what’s currently happening in your inner and outer worlds, then deciding where you need to make space. Clear out, release, stop doing what drains you. How can you welcome in what you really want if there’s no room for it?

Even the cosmos agrees with me! Eclipse season is here, and it’s whispering the same message: LET GO. Release the dead weight that keeps you circling the same loop…loop…loop (sorry I couldn’t resist ;)).

Our ancestors knew this instinctively. Before technology, when life followed the land, autumn was the season of transition. In Feng Shui, we still use the farmer’s almanac for guidance because the wisdom of the seasons still applies.

The beginning of Fall is contraction, the inward pull of energy. You might be feeling this too – the urge to cozy up on the couch with a cup of tea. Our ancestors felt this slow down in their work. They took stock of the harvest, asked if the past efforts were worth the yield, cleared their sheds, and prepared their bodies and homes for winter. They knew exactly what they were doing, and we can learn a lot from them.

That same wisdom applies to you right now. You can’t just stack new goals on top of old clutter and expect magic. Transformation requires space and raw honesty. Transformation requires you to pause, release, and reset before you move forward with intention.

So here is what I want you to do this weekend, in the last days of September:

  1. Awareness: Ask yourself how you actually feel right now. Not how you wish you felt, not how you want to appear to others, but how you feel in your body and your energy today. Your body tells you everything if you just listen.
  2. List: Name the things that are bothering you, the things that are draining your energy that you are ready to release. Maybe your closet is overflowing. Maybe you are still saying yes to a weekly meeting you dread. Write them down.
  3. Release: Be honest. Maybe it is one thing, maybe it is three, big or small. What is sapping your energy, or what’s not giving you any back? Choose and commit to letting it go.

These steps may sound small, but they build the foundation. They create the space that is required for the bigger vision. This is the work of September: to clear, to reset, to create space.

So please, don’t waste this energy! Because in October, I’ve got more juiciness coming your way to build upon this, so your 2026 is more powerful and easeful.

If you’re ready to not let September’s energy slip through your fingers, book a Discovery Call with me now, before the holiday season pulls you in a hundred directions. The shift begins the moment we connect.
