Perfectionism.

Just writing that word made my body tense up. How about you?

In our modern, chaotic society, the idea of efficient perfectionism is everywhere. In our minds, in our homes, in our work, on social media. Even in Feng Shui, we often aim for that flawless balance.

On the outside, we want our spaces, our careers, and our lives to reflect this perfect image we’ve conjured up of ourselves. On the inside, we crave balance, energy, inspiration – basically, perfection in the form of feeling amazing 24/7.

But let’s be real. How often do you actually hit that perfection mark? You guessed it – almost never. It’s a tall order.

My mantra? Crush perfectionism, but in the literal sense. Squash perfection.

Instead, focus on one or two things that bring you extreme joy. That joy is like fuel for your energy.

You can start from the outside in, with your environment. Surround yourself with a few things that genuinely make you happy (yes, Marie Kondo, we see you!). It’s amazing how just one or two joyful items can ignite that spark inside you. And guess what? That spark feeds your chi.

Or, you can work from the inside out. Focus on one thing that lights up your soul, and watch how that inner glow starts to radiate outward. Suddenly, you’re attracting friends, good vibes, and a lovely space to match your fabulous energy. It’s like a beautiful, self-sustaining cycle.

Me, perfect? Far from it. I’m writing this “Feng Shui Friday” post on a Saturday. And I’m totally fine with that. The idea of perfection is less and less an issue for me and because of that, it opened up pathways that have allowed joyful energy to continually flow into my life.

Let’s flip the script, actually we MUST flip the script. Focus on joy instead, and when you do, watch your space and energy transform.
