I love this time of year. Who doesn’t love ambient stringed lights and a reason to stay indoors and eat warm comfort food? I fondly remember the glow of Christmas lights that hung in my apartment year round when I was well into my late 20s. Ok maybe it was even a little later. Unfortunately (or luckily), my husband put his foot down and only grants me my holiday lighting buzz during this time of year.
That’s ok as compromise is the name of the game. So during the holidays, I take full advantage of the beautiful benefits that Christmas lights have to offer – the glow it casts on everyone’s skin, the way it makes a not so kempt house look ravishing. Lighting is so important in Feng Shui and interior design. The addition or subtraction of light can make a world of a difference. And who can argue with the inexpensive price tag of these lights?
Here are some examples of how these holiday lights can add a bit of pizzazz or romance in your room.

See how just one string of lights can completely change the mood of the room? I’ll leave you with one last visual below – I think this effect would be really nice in a children’s room for a starry effect. Have fun with this economical design tool and would love to hear what you come up with!
