Having been a former graphic designer, I’m was sad when I found out that The Metropolitan Museum of Art will no longer be issuing their colorful metal buttons on admission. Wasn’t it nice to guess what color it was going to be and then hearing the “clink” when you dropped it into the plastic box when exiting? Alas, no more.
But, what we did get in return is no small token. They’re open now on Mondays! Yes, you heard me right, the Met is now open 7 days a week. Now that’s a real New York frame of mind.

New York City is a busy place. More often than not, it’s difficult to find places of respite. The Met for me has always been one of those places. Not only is its architecture awe-inspiring and lovely, you can easily get lost in the interior hallways, cooled by the historic stone walls. When you’re there next, try a walking meditation and then find your own little corner to restore and rejuvenate. It will probably be next to a 3000 year old Greek statue.
