Moving Tips and Announcement!

May 15, 2019

I’m in the business of moving – helping people find places to move into, helping others find new occupants so they can move out, facilitating the move of emotionally charged physical things, all the while helping energy move in a smooth and effortless way.

That’s ALOT of moving!

Recently, many clients and friends have been doing alot of that – moving – and it’s naturally stirring up energy and emotion. Because I know how potentially traumatic a move can be, I am going to share with you my Top 3 Feng Shui actions to take when moving in or moving out!

When you are moving OUT of a space:

  1. Take something of meaning with you – Hopefully you’ve had some lovely moments in that home, so take something from the home that will help bring that positive energy into your new home. This could be some rocks or soil from the garden, a kitchen or bath hook, and if all else fails, take a photo of your fave spot in the house so you can frame it in your new home.
  2. Sage – Now we want to leave the space clear of your energy or predecessor qi for the new occupants. Light some sage and walk around the home, thanking it for the memories and opening it up for the new occupants.
  3. Leave behind an intention for the following occupants – this is optional, but if you like, you can write a nice intention such as “may there be much laughter and love” and either write it in pencil on a wall they won’t see or on a note you tuck away in a wall or closet and voilà! You’re ready to go!

When moving INTO a space, re-jig the steps:

  1. Sage – Just in case the last occupants didn’t clear the space or left behind not such great energy, you will want to sage your home. Light some sage and walk around the home, asking to clear the last occupants’ energy, opening it up for a new beginning for you and your family.
  2. Put in new nice intention for you and other occupants – If you are going to paint, before you do, write in pencil on the walls of each room what you’d like to create in your new space. For example, in the kitchen, “healthy eating and vitality”, in the bedroom, “restful sleep”, etc. If you’re not painting, you can get a bell or chime and walk around your home and say your intention out loud so they get “absorbed” into the walls.
  3. Install your part of “home” – Remember the object or photo you took from your last home? Now’s your time to break it out and place it somewhere you can see so you can conjure up positive feelings when you pass by.

We are all connected. I always say that our job is to leave our homes as energetically clean as possible for next occupants since that is what we hope the occupants of our next home have done! These steps work so well that I have done them myself with my numerous moves over the years and it’s always manifested  blessings and beautiful stories. Here’s to your next move!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Speaking of moving, this year was the start of year 10 of writing my blog/newsletter! Thank you all for your support along the way! But as you have probably noticed over the past 12-16 months, my newsletters have been less consistent as I actually have been so busy working “in” my work, versus working “on” my work, if you know what I mean.

I still want to interact with you guys which is why I have joined the wave of youngsters 🙂 and I am now putting directing more of my time on instagram (and less time on writing long newsletters). If you don’t follow me yet, please do! @fengshuicreative as you can find me there daily (or close to it) posting Feng Shui tips, Feng Shui Real Estate and sharing what I’m creating for myself and others. Please comment as much as you can since that is how I know that I’m on the right path to helping you. Hope to see you there and as always, please share the message and love – Thank you!
