Be A Disco Ball

November 7, 2017

In my work, I often reference Feng Shui elements because they really do pertain to our daily lives.

For example, the Autumn season is represented by Metal and Metal is all about communication.

In working with clients this past year, what came up more than anything were communication concerns. (And it’s no mistake that our communication malas are one of the best sellers!)

That’s why it’s so important to take advantage of this energy before we move into Winter – which is the water element as it is a totally new ball game. More on that next month!

Is there any place where you could be speaking up more and being more communicative?

Luckily we are here to help!

3 Ways to Tap into Your Metal Energy for Powerful Communication

1. Add metal accents into your home

Metal can be introduced in the home in many ways and at different price points. Fun, small objects like the ones below can make your home fun, but also be a reminder to use your power of communication. Psst – a disco ball can work too!

2. Host an event

Events are a fun way to build relationships, develop communities and COMMUNICATE. To get you started, how about hosting Thanksgiving? Sound challenging? Here is some help from our friends Buzz Feed: 17 Rules of Friendsgiving

3. Have that difficult conversation that you’ve been meaning to address

We are moving into holiday time so these opportunities abound! Just remember to breathe, ground yourself before the conversation and most importantly, focus on what your intended outcome is for the conversation. Here are some other tips:

  • Be emotionally present
  • Clarify the problem
  • Stay on task
  • Affirm and validate
  • Apologize for your part of the problem
  • Avoid “shoulds”
  • Be specific
  • Tell people what you want

Your turn!

How are you showing up and speaking your truth? Is it an easy or difficult thing for you to approach?
